The Tennis Club- ideal either for a spot of tennis or a spot of lunch in Figueira da Foz

The Tennis Club is located next to the site of the Forte and Santa Catarina Chapel, built at the end of the sixteenth Century. It’s a beautiful location for a game of tennis, and even if you don’t play the Tennis Club bar and restaurant is open to all, so you could sit in the sunshine watching a few games over a drink or two.

Courts should be booked in advance through the Club, ask at the time of booking if you require any equipment.

This is a great spot for sea-food lovers at lunchtime. The patron is the wife of a local fisherman, and is something of a local celebrity regularly appearing on posters around the town, and in the local newspaper. She serves up plates piled high with fresh prawns, crab and clams whilst wearing the traditional outfit of a Portuguese fisherman’s wife- certainly worth a visit if you’re feeling in need of a big lunch in a great atmosphere.
