Surfing in Figueira da Foz and the surrounding area
Figueira da Foz is home to just about every type of surf break you can imagine from the point breaks of Buarcos, to the wedges and beach breaks of Cabedelo all just a stone’s throw from the Foz Holidays house.
Overlooked by many people as a surfing destination, you’ll find uncrowded peaks, consistent Atlantic swells and a huge variety of surf spots. Not to mention one of Europes longest right hand waves - all of this earning Figueira the title “The forgotten land of the endless right hand wave” as quoted in the Guardian travel section in 2009.
To top it all off the WQS is coming back to Figueira da Foz this year and the WCT is returning to Peniche just down the road. Not only ideal for experienced surfers, there’s breaks to suite all levels which also makes Figueria the ideal place to learn to surf with our surf camp packages.
