Nightlife in Figueira da Foz

Figueira da Foz is a party town but, if you’re not looking for that, don’t worry because it is all contained in one area, that’s easily avoidable. However, if you are up for a few drinks and a night out, then there are plenty of bars and clubs for everyone!

Unlike nightlife in the UK, nothing really gets going until midnight. If you’re out in town before that you might begin to wonder where everyone is! Literally on the stroke of midnight the town starts to fill up with people of all ages standing outside bars, mingling, drinking and having a good time.

Make sure you try a Caipirinha, made with Brazilian sugar cane rum- cachaca- it’s the perfect blend of sweet and sour, definitely a cocktail to get you in the mood for a night in Figueira da Foz.

Most of the night-life is located in the centre of town, by the Casino, on Rua Academica Zagalo and the streets around it. The bars are friendly, reasonably priced (€1 for a beer, €0.80 for a glass of wine) and lively, with DJ’s playing sets until 4am. After 4am, if you want to go clubbing, there are plenty of late-night spots open until 8am. If you want to grab a bite to eat, there are also various all-night cafes serving snacks, sandwiches, chips and toasties until the sun comes up
