Foz Holidays' Location in Figueira da Foz

We're situated in a renovated Portuguese town house just 10 minute's walk from the bus and train station. Located just off the Praca Oito de maio (8th of May Square), which is locally known as the Praca de Taxis due to the fact that this is where the main taxi rank is situated- very handy if you don't feel like walking! The Square itself is a haven for cafe-hopping and people watching, the ideal spot for a light lunch of tosta mista and a coffee.

It's a ten minute walk alongside the harbour into the centre of Figueira da Foz, where you'll find bars, cafes and restaurants plus a delicious ice-cream parlour opposite the clock tower on the seafront! The main beach, which is in fact Europe's widest beach, is the same distance (10 minutes by foot from Casa Foz) where you're guaranteed a private sunbathing spot because of the sheer width of the stretch of sand that leads to the shoreline.

Surfers need to head for either Buarcos (at the North end of Figueira main beach) or Cabedelo (across the harbour bridge) to get the best waves. If you've booked a lesson or surf camp package you'll be collected by the Surf Centre mini bus; if you're surfing without a guide or lesson then you've got various options: get to Buarcos and Cabadelo by foot; bus- buses happily take surfers with their boards, the bus stop is 50metres from the Foz Holidays House and we can give you a timetable, cost is approx. €2; cycle, skate, or grab a lift from another guest!
